Food

JOSH: In Devon common foods are those that are made and prepared  locally. This includes things like fish from the many harbours or milk, meat and vegetables from the local farms.

Food in Thessaloniki, Greece

Picture
The traditional food in Thessaloniki does not differ from any other city in Greece. The only kind of food which mainly exist in Thessaloniki is a type of pie that called bougatsa. This pie can be found in every bakery or places that sell breakfasts in Thessaloniki but also in some places around Greece as well. The recipe for the traditional one is to have creme inside, however as now it is the most common breakfast there are many types such as with cheese, spinach, meat, even with chocolate inside.

The picture on the left is of the traditional one.

The remaining traditional food are common with all the places in Greece so I decided to list couple of them, the most famous.

As it is known even here we have the Greek salad. The main Greek container of this salad is the type of cheese called feta inside and the oil, olive oil, that is made of the local trees. The other containers are: tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, onions, olives and optional peppers.(Left Picture)

The most Greek meal food is mousakas. It is made of layers of elements. The base is a layer of potatoes, above is a layer of minced meat, then a layer of aubergine, then again potatoes and as the last layer a thick layer of bechamel. (Right Picture)

Food in Essex

There isnt really a particular stereotype of food that we have in Essex, with the mix of culture and religeon, the type of food outlets vary from American, to Indian to Chinese. Sadly, over the years the small traditional family run shops and market stools that sold fresh fruit/vegetables, meat and fish, have  been closed down, to make way for a large chain of supermarket stores.
